Letter From The Founder

My name is Rick Simpson and I am the Founder and C.E.O. of Emerald Labs.  In today’s fast-changing world, it brings me great joy to be able to say that we are still family owned and operated since our very beginnings in 1996. Emerald Labs is at least in part a “byproduct” of my upbringing, my own personal experiences with ill-health at a young age and the positive effects that the natural food industry has had on my own life for well over thirty-five years. In 1996, I established my own G.M.P. facility where we began contract manufacturing nutritional supplements and powders for others.  As standard practice, most nutritional supplements on the market today contain an array of additives such as magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, crosscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose and/or stearic acid. Each of these additives can be found on product labels listed under “other ingredients”. While these ingredients do functionally speed up the manufacturing processes and modify the natural behaviors of raw material powders, they are NOT generally in the product to provide ANY benefit to a consumer’s health. I was determined to do something different, so, in 2001, I started what would eventually become Emerald Labs, “the Additive-Free Company”®. Shortly thereafter, I asked my brother, Robert, to join me and oversee the contract manufacturing side of the business.

The Additive-Free Company

Each Emerald Labs product we produce includes ONLY active, nutritive ingredients. The only “other ingredient” you’ll ever see listed on our formulas is “capsule”. In addition to extensive 3rd party testing, we also have our own “in-house” laboratory where we test all incoming ingredients and outgoing products. To this day, I still personally choose each of our raw material suppliers. We have also partnered with Dr. Mark Stengler, N.M.D, “America’s Natural Doctor®”, who, for over a decade, has formulated our products to the same specifications he uses in his integrative medical clinic in Encinitas, CA. Over the last 20+ years, our company has grown, but our values have never changed. We are committed to making products that I feel personally confident sharing with my own loved ones…and that means that we are, and will always be, committed to QUALITY from beginning to end.
